Last week we had our first snowfall of the year!

There was less than an inch on the ground and the roads were already clear by the time we got up.

Do cucumbers really reduce the puffiness of your eyes?

There is no special ingredient in cucumbers that reduces the swelling in your eyes.  Cucumbers are 90% water and it is the cooling effect of the water that constricts the blood vessels around the eyes which decreases swelling.

I can’t believe it is 2009 already!  This year has gone by so fast! 

The past couple years I have started setting a couple goals for myself.  For 2008, one of my goals was to read at least 12 books.  I love reading, but I have a hard time setting aside the time to read.  Below are the books I read in 2008:

Redeeming Love – Francine Rivers

In a Pit With a Lion on a Snowy Day- Mark Batterson

Blood Covenant- Michael Franzese

True Believer, At First Sight & The Guardian – Nicholas Sparks

Simply Strategic Volunteers – Tony Morgan & Tim Stevens

The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring- J.R.R. Tolkein

Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse & Breaking Dawn – Stephenie Meyer

I’m going to continue this goal into 2009, but I’ve increased the number of books I want to read to 14.  I have a few books lined up already but I’m also up for any suggestions.  Have you read any good books lately?  Any favorites you have that are a must read?  Do you have any goals for ‘09?
